For the Students of University of Debrecen

If you have Generali STUDIUM health insurance and you feel sick, you may seek medical help in various forms in the University of Debrecen Clinical Center. However, you have to adhere to certain rules set by your Health Care Plan.

1. Your GP provides primary medical care for all students who are covered by the STUDIUM Health Insurance Policies. Therefore, you shall see your GP first, in her office hours (Monday- Friday, 8.00- 12.00 and 13.00- 16.00). Her office is located at 4032 Debrecen, Egyetem tér 1, in the building right behind the Coordinating Center for International Education. If your condition requires a consultation with a specialist, she will refer you to a specialist of the University of Debrecen Clinical Center.

Therefore, it is not advised to turn up at a clinic without a referral from the GP, since clinics require referral from primary care providers. Without a referral, you may be asked to pay the full cost of your care in advance.

2. After the hours of the GP's Office, if you feel that your acute condition requires immediate help, you may seek medical help at the Emergency Clinic of the University of Debrecen (UD) that is located at the Emergency and Gastroenterology Building.

Please note that the Emergency Clinic provides medical care for acute health problems. Some cases are not covered by your insurance policy, therefore, the insurance company may require you to cover the cost of your treatment.

IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY, PROCEED DIRECTLY TO THE DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MEDICINE. IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO MOVE, CALL THE HUNGARIAN EMERGENCY SERVICES (THE AMBULANCE) AT 112 or 104, free of charge.

3. In case of an accident or trauma, you have to seek medical help at Kenézy Hospital Trauma Center (Kenézy Gyula Campus Traumatológiai Osztály) at 4031 Debrecen, Bartók Béla út 2-26. If your condition requires treatment on the premises (or rescue and transportation), you can call Ambulance at 112 or 104, free of charge.
